PMLD Teaching Assistant – Full-Time
Location: Sutton
Hours: 9.00am – 3.45pm, Monday to Friday
Start: September
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
We are working with a warm, welcoming SEND school in Sutton with a real family feel, looking to appoint a full-time PMLD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical needs.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone with a nurturing, calm and flexible approach, who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with the highest level of need.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils with PMLD and complex medical needs in a small, structured class
Assisting with personal care, feeding, mobility and medical routines (full training provided)
Using sensory resources and communication aids to support engagement and learning
Promoting a calm, supportive learning environment alongside an experienced class team
Working closely with therapists and school staff to meet EHCP targets
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young adults with PMLD, SLD or complex medical needs
A patient, caring and resilient nature
Confidence or willingness to support personal care and manual handling
A genuine commitment to inclusive education and SEND
