Primary Teaching Assistant – Stockport
Location: Stockport
Start Date: October Half-term
Day Rate: £90.00 to £110.00 per day, PAYE (Experiance Dependant)
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to join a range of vibrant and supportive schools across Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development, and who thrive in a collaborative school environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, working alongside class teachers to create an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, ensuring that all children can access the curriculum.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom management, and resource organisation.
• Support pupils with SEND, behavioural, and additional learning needs, adapting approaches where necessary.
• Foster a nurturing and safe environment that promotes confidence, independence, and progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help develop pupils’ social and emotional skills.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
equirements
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role (voluntary or paid).
• A genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential.
• Knowledge of the primary curriculum and an understanding of strategies to support learning.
• Experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning difficulties) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, patience, and organisational skills.
• Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification, or equivalent are beneficial but not essential.
