Our client is a Local Authority in South London. They are looking to recruit a Procurement Officer with a proven background and experience working within a Local Authority.

The role sits in a housing engagement team and as such your work will focus on procurement activity in conjunction with the supply of accommodation, including temporary accommodation, direct lets, and private rented sector accommodation. You can expect to be working closely with the Procurement Manager in developing and implementing new initiatives to PRS landlords to increase the supply of PRS properties to ensure that supply meets demand.

On a daily basis you will be dealing with a range of tenders and you will issue tender documents and evaluate responses and let contracts to providers. You will be responsible for negotiating with managing agents to maximise procurement opportunities in line with procedures to demonstrate best use of financial resources.

We are looking for someone with a strong level of procurement knowledge and a good familiarity with Local Authority procedures. You will need to be prepared to work in the office 3 days per week.

The rate on offer is £29/hr (umbrella).
