Description
Axcis Education is recruiting for qualified teaching assistants for September 2026. The role is based within the resource hub of a mainstream primary school within the Small Heath area; supporting children children with varying SEND needs, including some children with low-level personal care needs.
As part of this role you will work on a 1:1 or small group (2-3) basis with specific children and will therefore be responsible for leading the learning and engagement of the children in your group. With the nature of the role being within a classroom with other staff also with their own groups the ability to work independently but also work as a team to support each other is very important.
The school recently opened their SEN Hub earlier this year and has plans for it to grow over the 2025/26 academic year and therefore these will be long-term roles for at least the duration of the whole academic year. Due to the knowledge and expertise required for this role the school requires all teaching assistants have a relatable level 3 qualification or above.
Job details:
• Supporting pupils with varying special educational needs

• Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Start Date: September 2025
• Duration: Whole of the 2025/26 academic year (September 2025 - July 2026)
Requirements:
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relatable subject/sector - Essential
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND needs - Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
