Axcis Education is recruiting for qualified teaching assistants to work within a mainstream primary school within the Small Heath area. The roles are based within the school’s resource base where the teaching assistants will be supporting children with varying special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
As part of this role you will work on a 1:1 or small group (2-3) basis with specific children and will therefore be responsible for leading the learning and engagement of the children in your group. With the nature of the role being within a classroom with other staff also with their own groups the ability to work independently but also work as a team to support each other is very important.
The school recently opened their SEN Hub earlier this year and has plans for it to grow over the 2025/26 academic year and therefore these will be long-term roles. Due to the knowledge and expertise required for this role the school requires all teaching assistants have a relatable level 3 qualification or above.
Job details:
• Supporting pupils with varying special educational needs
• Working on a one to one and/or small group basis
• Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Ongoing basis, starting ASAP, and going through to July 2025
Requirements:
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relatable subject/sector - Essential
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND needs - Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
