Description

Our client is a well-established telecommunications provider offering mobile and residential services to customers across the island. This is a temporary position working 30 hours per week until 31 December 2026. Full training will be provided.

Role
Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager, the Retail Sales Consultant will provide an efficient and professional sales and support service. The role involves helping customers with product information, purchases and after-sales queries across a full range of mobile and residential solutions.

Working hours are Monday to Saturday, with one day off during the week. Some Thursday evening and Sunday shifts will be required during the Christmas trading period. Availability will also be needed during the Isle of Man TT and Manx Grand Prix.

Key responsibilities
• Provide a professional and customer-focused retail sales service.
• Identify customers’ needs and offer clear, accurate product information.
• Demonstrate and sell mobile and residential products and services.
• Ensure customers understand their chosen service and any installation or activation arrangements.
• Provide after-sales support in person, by telephone and by email.
• Handle customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Work towards individual and team sales targets.
• Process customer orders accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Use relevant retail systems and applications following training.
• Comply with regulatory, data protection, health and safety, security and information-handling requirements.
• Attend relevant training and support new Retail team members when required.

Person specification
• Previous sales experience is essential.
• A strong commitment to putting the customer first.
• Good understanding of the importance of customer service.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Confidence when handling difficult customers or complaints.
• Enthusiasm for new and emerging technology.
• Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and professional presentation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, keyboard skills and an understanding of modern retail or mobile technology would be advantageous.
• Willingness to complete a satisfactory Basic Police Disclosure.
