Description
Are you looking for a meaningful role where you can change lives every day? We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a welcoming school in the Keynsham area.
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am–3:30pm. The position starts as soon as possible and will become permanent after a 16-week period. Pay is £13.70 per hour.
About the school
This inclusive academy, rated Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection, has a strong reputation for being a warm, supportive and caring place to learn. Inspectors praised the school’s calm, respectful atmosphere and the way staff create a real sense of belonging for every pupil. Students feel known as individuals, valued for who they are, and encouraged to grow in confidence and resilience.
The school is part of a forward-thinking trust that shares the vision that “every child is remarkable.” Its values – kindness, respect, fairness, and a growth mindset – run through daily life, shaping the way children and staff work together. With a close-knit community feel, excellent pastoral support, and a focus on personal as well as academic development, it offers a distinctive environment where both staff and pupils can thrive.
About the role
As a Teaching Assistant in the SEMH provision, you will:
•Support children to regulate emotions, feel safe and engage in learning.
•Provide encouragement in lessons and structured activities.
•Work alongside teachers to create a positive, consistent classroom environment.
•Build trusting relationships that boost confidence and wellbeing.
Every day will bring new challenges and rewards. Your role is not just to support learning, but to help children believe in themselves and their future.
About you
We are looking for someone with the right values, patience and motivation rather than years of experience. This could suit graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants or support workers – anyone who is caring, resilient and ready to make a lasting difference to young lives.
If you are ready for a role with real purpose, where your personality and values matter most, we would love to hear from you.
