Contract: Full Time, Temporary (with the possibility of extension)
Salary: £160 - £220 per day (subject to experience)

Axcis Education is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Qualified Science Teacher to become an integral part of the teaching staff at a vibrant school in Oldham, Lancashire. We are seeking a candidate who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has accumulated at least 12 weeks of teaching experience within the UK educational system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging science lessons to pupils across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially 5, ensuring that learning objectives are met.
- Preparing practical science experiments and demonstrations to enhance the learning experience, whilst maintaining high standards of health and safety.
- Providing differentiated instruction to cater for the varying abilities and interests of students.
- Assessing and recording student progress, providing feedback and reporting on outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Participating in parent-teacher meetings and maintaining open communication regarding student progress.
- Contributing to the development of the science curriculum and attending relevant departmental meetings.
- Engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated with educational best practices and pedagogical techniques.
- Collaborating with colleagues to create a supportive and positive learning environment.
- Providing general cover for absent colleagues during free periods, as required.
Requirements:
- Possession of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK.
- A minimum of 12 weeks of teaching experience within the UK school system.
- Strong knowledge base in Science and ability to teach across different disciplines (i.e., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Excellent classroom management skills and ability to foster an environment conducive to learning.
- Commitment to inclusive education and an understanding of how to support students with diverse needs.
- Evidence of planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans including practical science lessons.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proven track record of raising student attainment.
