Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary Age
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and welcoming SEND school located in St Helens, catering to secondary-aged pupils.
Role Details:
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Hours: Full-time, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Location: St Helens
Pay Rate: From £13 per hour, depending on experience
The school supports pupils with a diverse range of needs, including Down's syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), complex medical and learning needs, and more. Staff work closely together to create an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child is supported to thrive.
We welcome applicants with experience in education, care, youth work, or similar backgrounds who are committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key qualities we’re looking for:
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service
A positive, patient, and resilient attitude
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
Experience supporting individuals with SEND (in any setting)
A genuine passion for inclusive education
