Job Title: Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: London, Wandsworth
Pay: Paid To Scale
Hours: 8:00am- 4:00pm, Full Time, Ongoing
Start Date: Monday 1st September

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant educational team in London. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND, such as ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement effective educational plans (IEPs or EHCPs).
• Assist in the delivery of classroom activities, adapting materials and methods to engage and motivate students with diverse learning requirements.
• Assist with the tracking of student progress and contribute to review meetings, offering insights into the students' experiences and challenges.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment, promoting understanding and respect among all students.
• Aid students with personal care needs, when necessary, whilst promoting independence.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to students, acting as a mentor and role model.
• Facilitate small group sessions and one-on-one interventions to reinforce learning objectives and enhance skill development.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Relevant experience working with SEND students within a secondary school environment.
• An understanding of different educational strategies beneficial to SEND students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with young people.
• A proactive and empathetic approach with a passion for inclusive education.
• A relevant Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable.
