About the role
We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people across a range of settings in Leicestershire, including special schools, SEN units and mainstream schools with additional needs provisions.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs and learning difficulties
• Working 1:1 or in small groups to encourage learning and engagement
• Supporting the class teacher with behaviour management and classroom routines
• Helping pupils develop social, emotional and communication skills
• Creating a calm, positive and nurturing environment
• Working closely with SENCOs, teachers and other support staff to meet individual learning goals
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, support work etc.)
• Is patient, reliable and confident supporting additional needs
• Can build strong relationships and remain calm under pressure
• Has a genuine passion for supporting learners with SEN
• Is available to work full-time or flexible days (we can work around you!)
Desirable (but not essential):
• Experience supporting pupils with autism (ASD) and/or SEMH
• Team Teach / de-escalation training
• Previous experience in a school or specialist setting
• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
