SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 Specialist Provision
Chorley | Axcis Education | £93+ per day
Axcis Education is recruiting for a confident and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a small KS1 specialist SEN class in Chorley.
The pupils have a range of SEND, including ASC and behavioural needs. We are looking for someone who is confident, hands-on and ready to get stuck in from day one.
You will:
• Support pupils with SEND, including ASC and behavioural needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Engage pupils in learning and build positive relationships.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and independence.
• Use a calm and consistent approach to behaviour.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs.
We are looking for someone with:
• Minimum 6 months' experience supporting children with SEND.
• Overseas candidates must have at least 3 months' relevant UK experience.
• Strong understanding of SEND, ASC and behavioural needs.
• A confident, proactive approach and willingness to get stuck in straight away.
• The ability to work effectively with different children and as part of a team.
• An Enhanced Child/Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
• Reliable transport/ability to commute to Chorley.
• Extensive personal experience supporting children with SEND will also be considered.
