Axcis are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Coach to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), and challenging behaviour.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals from a Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Support Work, Sports Coaching, Psychology Graduate or Care background who are looking to build a long-term career within education, special educational needs, or children's services.
The Role
As a Learning Coach, you will work closely with students both inside and outside the classroom to help them engage in learning, develop social skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
The school follows the National Curriculum but also offers a creative and engaging approach to education through:
• Outdoor learning activities
• Community projects
• Educational trips and visits
• Sports and physical activities
• Cooking and life skills sessions
• Creative arts and enrichment programmes
• Therapeutic and relationship-based support
You will play a key role in motivating students, building positive relationships and supporting them to overcome barriers to learning.
The Ideal Candidate
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who are:
• Sports coaches or highly active individuals
• Previous Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
• Youth Workers
• Psychology, Criminology, Sport or Education graduates
• Passionate about helping young people succeed
• Resilient, positive and confident in managing challenging behaviour
• Strong relationship builders
• Looking for a long-term career within education
• Full UK driving licence holder with access to a vehicle

• Supporting classroom learning across a range of subjects
• Encouraging participation in sports, trips and enrichment activities
• Promoting confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams
