Description
Are you someone who’s patient, resilient, and genuinely passionate about helping young people thrive? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We’re working with a specialist school near Berkeley that supports children with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). Many of the pupils here haven’t always had an easy time in mainstream education, so the school focuses on creating a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where every child is supported to grow in confidence.
The best part? You don’t need any previous school experience to apply. What matters most is your attitude – being caring, consistent, and willing to get stuck in to support the children and the team.
What Makes This School Special
This isn’t your average classroom environment. Lessons are creative, hands-on, and linked to real life. One moment you might be helping with a maths task, the next you could be outdoors supporting a group activity or getting involved in a practical skills project. No two days are ever the same – and every little step forward from the pupils feels like a big win.
The staff often describe the school as a community. Everyone pulls together, supports each other, and celebrates the achievements – whether that’s a young person finding their voice in class, managing their emotions better, or proudly completing a task they never thought they could.
It’s not always easy, but it’s always meaningful. If you’re looking for a role where you’ll really see the difference you make every single day, this is it.
