Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3.30 pm

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in the St Helens area. This is a full-time, long-term position where you will be providing support to a child in Key Stage 1 with a range of SEND needs, including challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to the identified child, assisting them with their learning and development.
Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individualized education plans.
Foster a nurturing and supportive relationship with the child, helping to build their confidence and self-esteem.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to break down barriers to learning and promote progress.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with challenging behaviour, is highly desirable.
A patient and compassionate nature, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children with SEND would be advantageous.
A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
