SEND Science Teacher
Location: Preston (PR2)
Contract: Full-time (8:45 am-3:15 pm - Monday to Friday)
Salary: £160-190 per day (dependent on experience)
Here at Axcis Education, we are recruiting for a full-time science teacher to work with students aged 11-16 with additional needs at a school in Preston (PR2). The students in this school have a range of special needs, such as autism and social, emotional and mental health needs. Some students also present moderately challenging behaviour. Pay rates can be between £160-£190 per day depending on experience. Transport links are offered from Preston city centre and surrounding areas, and free parking is provided on site.
You will be required to deliver GCSE science, but, due to the nature of the additional needs present at the school, should also be happy to teach KS2 science. The role will start in January 2026, and candidates applying for this role must be available to work 8:45 am – 3.15 pm, Monday – Friday.
The ideal candidate must have:
• Qualified Teacher Status
• An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (if you do not have this, we can guide you through the process)
• Brilliant communication skills, empathy and patience
• A genuine desire to make a difference to young people’s lives
