SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Learning Difficulties – Stratford-upon-Avon
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
Contract Type: Full-time – Long-term placement
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is currently working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism (ASC) and moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD).
This full-time role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and making a difference in the lives of children who need additional support to thrive in a mainstream setting.

The Role:
You will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with autism and learning difficulties in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Implement visual supports, structured routines, and sensory-based strategies to help students access learning.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Support the development of communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
• Foster a calm, consistent, and positive classroom environment.

About You:
• Experience supporting children or young people with autism, SLD, or MLD is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or visual schedules.
• Calm, empathetic, and able to use a child-centred approach to behaviour and learning.
• Team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) is beneficial but not essential.
