SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary
Ince, Wigan | Axcis Education | £93+ per day
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Ince as an SEN Teaching Assistant, working through Axcis Education agency.
This is a busy and rewarding setting with a high level of behavioural need, alongside pupils with a wide range of SEND. The school often requires 1:1 support to help pupils access learning, manage behaviour and develop positive relationships within the school environment.
You will:
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND.
• Manage behaviour confidently both in and outside the classroom.
• Support pupils to engage positively with learning and school life.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team.
• Uphold the school's high standards for attitude, behaviour and conduct.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting children with SEND and/or behavioural needs.
• Is confident managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Is proactive, resilient and willing to get stuck in.
• Can maintain clear boundaries while building positive relationships.
• Has high expectations of pupil behaviour and engagement.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Has an Enhanced Child/Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to apply.
Previous experience in a mainstream primary setting is desirable.
