Here at Axcis Education, we are recruiting for a full-time teaching assistant to work with key-stage 3 students with autism at a school in Southport. Pay rates begin at £89 per day and may increase depending on experience.
The school specialises in providing specialist care for students with autism, from key stage 1 to key stage 4. Transport links are offered from Southport and surrounding areas, and free parking is provided on site.
The role will require you to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with students who are on the autism spectrum. You will be required to work with the pupils in a range of lessons and support the teacher in the delivery of engaging activities. The role will start as soon as possible and candidates applying for this role must be available to work 9am – 3.30pm, Monday – Friday.
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent communication skills, empathy and patience
An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (if you do not have this, we can help)
6 months of relevant experience OR a relevant qualification
A genuine desire to make a difference to young people’s lives
Those from backgrounds such as care, coaching, youth work and support work are also encouraged to apply.
