Job Title: English Teacher - KS4
Location: Rochdale, Lancashire
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school located in Rochdale, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing high-quality education to students in Key Stage 4.
Responsibilities:
- Teach English up to GCSE level, ensuring that all students are engaged and progressing.
- Plan and deliver stimulating and challenging lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
- Maintain excellent classroom management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Continuously assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare students for their GCSE examinations with comprehensive revision strategies and focused learning.
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum within the department.
- Collaborate with the team of English Teachers and the Head of English to share best practices and resources.
- Utilize timetabled PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) time effectively to prepare lesson plans and assess student work.
- Be willing to undertake general cover duties during free periods as required.
- Adhere to the school's rewards and sanctions policy to encourage positive behavior and support the school ethos.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- At least 12 weeks of experience teaching English up to GCSE level in the UK.
- Excellent behaviour management skills and strong subject knowledge.
- Ability to plan and execute lessons effectively up to GCSE level.
- Full-time availability to commence from January 5th until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extending the contract.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach to working with colleagues within a large English department.
Additional Information:
- The school offers a supportive work environment with four other English Teachers, including the Head of English, who has a reduced timetable.
- Pay range: £180-£230 per day (PAYE), depending on experience and qualifications.
