•Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 4:30pm

Axcis Education are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational provision supporting students aged 7-19 years with a diagnosis of ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and associated complex needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity where no two days are the same. You will work within a highly supportive environment where small class sizes allow staff to build meaningful relationships with students and provide the individualised support they need to succeed.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
Many students present with additional complex needs and behaviours that may challenge, therefore experience supporting children and young people with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviour is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes
• Promoting communication, independence, and social development
• Supporting students to regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
• Building positive relationships that enable students to reach their full potential
