Description
We're hiring for a Senior AV Technician - experienced in Vmix / recording, camera work, BirdDog PTZ cameras and controller, streaming to various platforms, setting up Audio & Video systems when equipment is needed to be moved from one room to the next.
Summary of Key responsibilities:
• To work under the direction of the manager and effectively deputize for him/her as and when required which include:
• Assist the manager with the efficient upkeep of the AV facilities and maintenance/stock of equipment.
• To manage your time and that of the other venue technician (in addition to further techs which may be required on-site).
• To provide a flawless service to the venue’s clients; this will include advising on and then operating equipment, as required.
• To take responsibility for preparing the appropriate equipment and ensuring the room is set to the exact client requirements for the event.
• To liaise with the venue to ensure all AV and presentation equipment in the venue is kept in good working order and is properly maintained.
• To research and advise upon any equipment enhancements that will enhance the user experience in the room. To remain up-to-date technically with the latest techniques and equipment available.
• To organise any equipment fixes that need to be made and ensure the "work around" is maintained whilst equipment is being repaired. To ensure equipment is fixed as quickly and cost effectively as practicable.
• To ensure that between you and the AV technician all rooms are ready and in good order in time for client events.
• To manage any Freelance technicians on a "day-to-day" basis whilst they are working in the venue to ensure they are providing a flawless level of support to the venue clients.
• To liaise with the venue to ensure reporting is done, holidays and sickness are covered and that a productive working relationship is maintained with all stakeholders.
AV Operations:
• To continuously improve and innovate the service and guest experience via the implementation and maintenance of standards and procedures.
• To ensure the AV facilities are functioning and set-up for client use, especially on self-servicing spaces with built in AV where there is no dedicated AV technician present.
• Manage the inventory of all AV assets, including all spares, cables, connectors, accessories and adapters.
• To assist the upkeep of all AV assets and connectors on areas of operation. This includes, a formal review of all assets each year, split into major and minor checks, in accordance with manufacturer manual. Ie cleaning of cooling fans in projectors and other equipment.
• Carry out minor repairs/replacement such as repairs of floor/wall/equipment connectors.
• To ensure daily handovers are submitted and to escalate any issues as they occur.
• To ensure that storage locations, front of house setups and controls rooms are left in a tidy condition at the end of each day.
• Manage sundry resources such as batteries, lenses, consumables and uniforms with the AV Manager.
• To assist any Freelance technicians on a "day-to-day" basis whilst they are working in the venue to ensure they are providing a flawless level of support to the venue clients.
• To be able to setup, operate and manage the venues Audio, Video and Lighting equipment as required.
• Setup and operate the venue’s Hybrid offering with regards to Pre-production and Operation of PTZ cameras, vMix, Crowdcomms and other streaming platforms in conjunction with the AV Manager.

• To attend any training courses that you are recommended to join, or that you feel would be beneficial to your career development.
• To periodically deliver on the job training sessions to junior team members.
• To ensure rising stars are being developed above and beyond current duties and that they form part of the department succession plan.
• Ensure performance reviews are carried out often and as determined by the company.
• Ensure any temporary staff receive adequate training and signoffs
Compliance and Administration:
• To ensure that all government legislation, regulations and licensable activities are adhered to, including but not limited to The Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, Bribery Act, Premises License, GDPR, COSHH.
• Ensure all company and client policies and procedures are adhered to, including, but not limited to, Food Safety, HACCP, Health Safety, Security, Emergency Procedures, Personal Expenses, GDPR, IT, Allergens and Purchasing.
• Ensue department due diligence documentations are in order and up to date at all times.
• To act as a Health Food and Safety Champion and to attend any meeting in relation to it.
• To carry out any reasonable requests that are asked by senior management.
