Description
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of prestigious, high-end smart home AV integration projects from concept through to completion. The role calls for a confident, commercially aware project leader who can manage complex programmes, budgets, technical detail and multiple stakeholders while maintaining the exceptional standards expected by discerning private clients, design teams and main contractors. Working across large-scale and technically sophisticated residential projects, the Senior Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring every installation is delivered smoothly, profitably and to an outstanding level of quality.
The role will be an evolving position, responding to the requirements of the company, however, the main duties will include:
• Responsible for the day-to-day running of multiple, very large or complex projects, communicating with the client, design team, contractors and site team.
• Attend design team or project meetings and carry the continued design forward where possible without the need of the design team unless needed.
• Work with the senior management team to improve processes or suggest more efficient ways of working when identified.
• Be client-facing during projects and, when required, explain systems, suggest alternatives or hand over systems.
• Working closely with engineers and third-party teams when required on site to ensure they have what they need documentation, equipment, access etc. to do the job in hand, and to ensure standards are being kept.
• Rack design following internal rack design guidelines; this can also be worked up with the Lead Engineer.
• Full understanding and management of the production of engineering schematics for large, complex projects.
• Work with the project support team to produce drawings for each project, managing the team to update drawings so they are issued on time.
• Procure equipment on time so projects remain within agreed timelines and budgets, including final checks to ensure specified equipment is suitable for the application.
• Provide regular input into forecasting to ensure labour resources are sufficient for project-related work.
• Maintain an understanding of, and focus on, site safety for the team, ensuring RAMS have been issued to site.
• Attend or hold meetings, either on site or virtually, ensuring relevant information is raised in a professional and timely manner.
• Produce programmes for the duration of each project.
• Manage project finances, invoicing, variations and quotes throughout the project with the client team and/or main contractor. Funds must be received before purchasing unless specially agreed terms are in place.
• People management, whether this is internal staff or people you are working with on the project, to ensure a positive outlook.
• Feeding back to the design team on any specified equipment/systems, good or bad.
• Handing over to client(s) and the maintenance team at the end of the project with one of the Partners.
Experience Required
• Experience and past delivery of large or complex projects.
• Good technical project management experience, including experience of high-level design team meetings where the role requires confidence in leading discussion and answering technical questions.
• Delivery of large projects to a high standard.
• A good overall understanding of audio visual systems, how they work and how they connect.
• AV and lighting control systems, including Crestron, Savant and Lutron.
• Cinema systems and surround sound.
• Able to design, read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
• Electrical knowledge.
• Field-based or past hands-on experience.
• Fault-finding and problem-solving.
