Site Engineer Setting Out Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Setting Out Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality construction and civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for accurately marking out locations and levels on site, ensuring all works are executed in line with design plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and implement construction drawings and technical specifications.
Set out, level, and survey sites using GPS, total stations, and other instruments.
Mark positions for structures such as foundations, roads, and drainage.
Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and engineers to maintain project alignment.
Verify accuracy of subcontractor work and maintain detailed site records.
Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with standards and safety protocols.
Assist in resolving technical issues and provide guidance to junior team members.
Requirements
Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline (desirable).
Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer.
Proficiency in surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser levels) and AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of construction methods and health & safety regulations.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
CSCS card preferred.
Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Trimble, Leica, Revit, or Civil 3D.
