Job Title: Sports Teaching Assistant
Location: Orpington
Hours: Full-time (Monday – Friday)
Start: September 2025
Are you a passionate and motivated individual with a love for sport and a desire to support young people in their physical and emotional development? We are seeking a Sports Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic SEND school in Orpington.
This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire and engage students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, using sport and physical activity as a powerful tool for learning, personal growth, and positive change.
The Role:
- Supporting the delivery of PE and sports sessions across both primary and secondary phases.
- Encouraging student engagement in physical activities to boost well-being and social skills.
- Promoting positive behaviour through structure, encouragement, and consistent support.
- Providing one-to-one and small group assistance to ensure inclusive participation.
Working Hours:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with SEMH students or in a SEND environment (preferred but not essential).
- A genuine passion for sport, fitness, and physical education.
- Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to engage and motivate.
- A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude towards supporting young people.
- Able to build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues.
