Hours: 30 per week, term-time only (38 weeks)
Reports to: Inclusion Manager
Location: Isleworth (with occasional work at Feltham)
The Student Support Assistant helps learners with additional needs to achieve their potential. Reporting to the Inclusion Manager, this role provides practical and pastoral support in the classroom, encourages independence, and promotes positive engagement. At times, the postholder may also support students with challenging behaviour, deliver small group activities, or accompany learners on trips and events.
Main Duties:
Provide one-to-one or group support during lessons across different subjects
Motivate students to participate, interact with peers, and develop independence
Keep accurate notes on attendance, progress, and support provided
Reinforce learning, offering guidance and mentoring as needed
Assist with supervision of students outside of class time
Help adapt materials and contribute to student goal-setting
Support confidence, employability, and personal development
Essential Skills & Experience:
English and Maths at Level 2 (or willingness to work towards this)
A relevant support qualification, or readiness to train
Basic IT skills, including Word, Outlook and internet use
Experience of supporting individuals with learning needs or disabilities
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice
Commitment to ongoing training and development
