Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded specialist school supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex additional needs. The Role
As a Student Support Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff to help pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals. You'll be supporting students with complex physical, medical and communication needs, ensuring they feel safe, valued and encouraged every step of the way.
No two days are the same, and you'll quickly become an important part of a close-knit and supportive team.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs throughout the school day.
Assisting with personalised learning activities tailored to each student's abilities.
Supporting communication using a variety of methods, including visual aids and communication devices.
Providing personal care and assisting with moving and handling where required (full training provided where appropriate).
Encouraging independence, social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and families to provide the best possible support.
