A fantastic opportunity is available for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive school team this September, working with Key Stage 1 pupils with a broad range of high-level needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with diverse and complex SEN needs in both 1:1 and small-group settings.
Provide personal care where necessary.
Assist with manual handling tasks when required (note: full training not provided).
Support pupils during weekly swimming sessions; some staff are required to stand in waist-high water to assist.
Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviours.
Promote pupil independence and self-confidence through a nurturing and empathetic approach.
Work closely within a large, collaborative team where shared support and communication are essential.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience supporting SEN pupils, ideally within Key Stage 1.
Understanding of a range of SEN and the ability to adapt support to individual pupil needs.
Ability to stay calm, think on one’s feet, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Strong team ethic and a willingness to support colleagues as well as pupils.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (mandatory).
