1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: WF17
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: From £89 per day (depending on experience)
Axcis education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with special educational needs and disabilities in a primary school setting.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, helping them access learning in a way that suits their individual needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored learning strategies and behaviour support plans.
• Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for the pupil.
• Monitor and report on progress, achievements, and areas of concern.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in all aspects of school life.
Requirements:
• Enhanced DBS check (Child & Adult Workforce) – must be on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Proven experience working with children who display SEND, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting.
• Strong understanding of SEND support strategies and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
Desirable:
• Relevant qualifications in Education or Special Needs support (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, etc.)
• Experience working within a primary school environment.
