We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Knowsley. In this rewarding role, you will help empower students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to succeed both academically and personally.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Inspire and support students through 1:1 and small group work, building confidence, resilience, and independence
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to design and deliver Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and understood
• Support the development of coping strategies, social skills, and emotional well-being
• Monitor and track progress, contributing to positive outcomes and success stories
• Assist in planning and delivering engaging, motivating lessons that meet individual needs
About You
• Experience in residential care, youth work, or similar roles, ideally supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
• Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
