We are looking for a caring, patient and positive Teaching Assistant in Bristol to join a specialist resource base supporting primary aged pupils with autism, SEMH and learning disabilities.
You do not need to have worked in a school before. We are looking for the right personality, attitude and values. If you are calm, kind, resilient and genuinely want to help children feel safe, confident and able to learn, this could be the opportunity for you.
The role could suit a graduate, youth worker, sports coach, support worker or experienced Teaching Assistant looking for meaningful work supporting vulnerable young people.
You will help pupils with their learning, communication, independence and emotional development. You will build trusting relationships, provide encouragement and help create a calm and positive environment where every child can succeed.
The resource base is an established specialist provision within a welcoming Bristol primary school. It provides small-group learning, sensory and calm spaces, tailored teaching and opportunities for pupils to learn alongside their mainstream peers where appropriate. The school places a strong focus on inclusion, independence, communication and helping every child reach their potential.
The latest Ofsted inspection rated the school Good across all areas. Inspectors highlighted the school’s warm, caring culture and found that staff understand the individual needs of pupils in the resource base and plan carefully to support them.
