Axcis Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bedminster, Bristol this September 2025. This full-time, term-time only position (Monday to Friday, 8:30–3:30) offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young learners with behavioural and emotional needs.
The Role:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Use behaviour management strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions
• Work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to maintain a structured and nurturing learning environment
• Support children to engage with learning and develop positive peer and adult relationships
• Promote resilience, independence, and self-confidence in every pupil
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs is highly desirable
• Calm, patient, and proactive approach to working with children who need extra support
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
