Teaching Assistant – Primary School (E17, Waltham Forest)
Full-time | 8:30am – 3:45pm
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in E17, Waltham Forest. This is a full-time role supporting a mix of mainstream and SEN pupils, including children with ASD and non-verbal communication needs.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting pupils in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
Providing tailored support for pupils with ASD and non-verbal needs
Using visual aids, communication tools and structured routines to support learning
Promoting positive behaviour, engagement and inclusion
Supporting personal care where required
Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to follow individual support plans
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children in a primary school setting
Have knowledge or experience supporting ASD and non-verbal pupils (desirable)
Be patient, nurturing and proactive
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
