Description
Axcis Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Skelmersdale, supporting KS2 pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a great opportunity for a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEND Support Assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs. You will work alongside the class teacher to provide targeted learning support, help pupils regulate their emotions and behaviour, and support their overall progress and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting KS2 pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
• Implementing learning interventions and supporting pupils with their educational development
• Using regulation strategies and activities to help children manage their emotions
• Supporting positive behaviour and promoting good classroom behaviour
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
• Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and mental health
• Working closely with teachers and other school staff to meet individual pupil needs
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience working with SEND children in a primary school or similar setting.
You will ideally have experience with:
• Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• KS2 pupils
• Learning interventions
• Emotional regulation strategies
• Behaviour management
• Supporting children's mental health and emotional wellbeing
• 1:1 or small-group support
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Support Worker or Behaviour Support Assistant would be beneficial.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 2.30pm
