Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Skelmersdale from September. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant position, working Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:30pm, offering a fantastic opportunity to support teaching and learning within a Year 5 classroom.
There is also the potential for a permanent contract for the successful candidate, depending on the school's ongoing staffing needs.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils in a Year 5 class, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. You will provide support to the whole class, as well as working with small groups and individual pupils who may require additional guidance to access the curriculum.
The school is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive individual who can build positive relationships with pupils and contribute to their academic, social, and emotional development.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Supporting pupils during whole-class lessons
• Delivering small group interventions in literacy and numeracy

• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupil engagement
• Supporting pupils during playtimes, lunchtimes, and transition periods where necessary
