This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s passionate about helping young people succeed – academically, emotionally, and socially.
Whether you’re experienced in education or looking to transition from a care or youth support background, your support can make a real difference.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who may have special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, or behavioural challenges. You’ll provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping students stay engaged in lessons and build confidence in a nurturing environment.
You'll collaborate with teachers and the school’s SENCO to adapt learning strategies, monitor progress, and encourage independence, all while promoting a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with SEND in class, small groups, or 1:1 settings
• Assist with lesson participation, focus, and emotional regulation
• Follow personalised support plans created by the SENCO
• Track and report on student progress and engagement
• Encourage self-esteem and positive behaviour through consistent support
• Use ICT and learning aids effectively to enhance access to the curriculum
• Supervise students during breaks, exams, and on school outings
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and safeguarding standards at all times
What We’re Looking For:
• A caring, reliable, and resilient individual
• Experience supporting young people with SEND or behavioural needs (education, youth work, or care settings welcome)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
• Confidence working with teenagers in a school environment
• Willingness to complete training in SEND, safeguarding, and behaviour support
• A positive attitude and a calm, consistent approach
Why You’ll Love This Role:
• Impactful Work – Help students thrive, both in and out of the classroom
• Supportive Environment – Join a collaborative and committed SEND team
• Work-Life Balance – Term-time only, with consistent hours (30.5 hrs/week)
• Professional Growth – Ongoing CPD and training opportunities
• Weekly Pay – Earn £89 per day, paid every week
If you're someone who believes in the potential of every young person and enjoys being part of a team that genuinely cares, we’d love to hear from you.
