Pay: £95–£105 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision in Bristol that supports Key Stage 4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex behavioural challenges. We are currently seeking a dedicated, resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from after February half term.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant within this alternative provision, you will:
• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them re-engage with education
• Support the delivery of individualised learning and behaviour plans alongside teaching and pastoral staff
• Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging situations safely
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a consistent and positive role model
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, resilience, and personal development
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within alternative provision settings
• Is calm, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to remain professional in challenging situations
• Communicates effectively and works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Holds relevant training such as Team Teach or a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (desirable but not essential, as training can be provided)
