Axcis Education is delighted to be working with a leading alternative provision in Bristol that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. We are now recruiting a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026, supporting Key Stage 4 pupils to achieve both academically and emotionally.

About the Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapting learning to suit individual needs.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and re-engage positively with education.
• Use strategies such as de-escalation, restorative practice, and positive behaviour management.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver personalised learning plans.
• Act as a mentor and positive role model, building strong, trusting relationships with students.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
• Experienced in supporting young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEND.
• Resilient, calm and patient, even in high-pressure situations.
• Empathetic, compassionate, and able to build strong rapport with pupils.
• Ideally trained in Team Teach or holding a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 TA) – training can be provided.
