Experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEMH

Location: Camden, NW5
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

An inclusive primary school in Camden (NW5) is looking to appoint a resilient and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who presents with challenging behaviour.

This rewarding role requires someone who can build trust, establish clear boundaries, and use positive behaviour strategies to help the pupil engage successfully with learning.

Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
Implement behaviour support plans and EHCP targets.
Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour.
Promote emotional regulation and positive social interactions.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals.
Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
Significant experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach.
Confidence working independently while contributing to a wider team.
Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent training is advantageous but not essential.
