Description
Axcis Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Bristol to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant for their dedicated resource base, starting mid-January. This specialist provision supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, communication difficulties and learning needs.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant within the resource base, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Support learning activities that develop pupils’ communication, social and academic skills.
• Assist with the delivery and monitoring of EHCP targets.
• Help pupils manage transitions, emotional regulation and daily routines within a calm, nurturing environment.
• Work closely with a skilled and collaborative team of teachers and SEND professionals.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism or communication difficulties.
• Is patient, empathetic and passionate about inclusive education.
• Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each child.
• Holds relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
