A mainstream primary school in Bolton is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil who displays challenging behaviour. This temporary role is available until July 2025 and offers a valuable opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school environment.
We are looking for someone confident, resilient and patient, with the ability to build strong relationships and remain calm under pressure. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in behaviour support, SEN, or those looking to develop their skills within a primary setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with challenging behaviour
• Implementing behaviour management strategies under guidance from teaching staff
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Encouraging positive engagement and supporting the pupil’s emotional and social development
• Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
• Promoting a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment
Requirements
• Experience working with children, ideally in a behaviour support or SEN capacity
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils
• A calm, consistent and proactive approach to behaviour management
• Ability to follow support plans and work collaboratively with staff
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
