As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support to pupils throughout the school day. You may work with individuals, small groups or the whole class, helping children to engage confidently with their learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting pupils with their learning and development across the primary curriculum.
• Working with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support.
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and preparation.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils' social and emotional development.
• Helping to maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
• Providing additional support to pupils who may have additional learning needs.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
We are looking for someone who is:
• Passionate about working with children and supporting their education.
• Caring, patient and approachable.
• Confident working as part of a school team.
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Reliable, enthusiastic and professional.
• Committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Previous experience working in a primary school or education setting is desirable, but we welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience.
