Axcis are an education agency specialising in providing special educational needs support across the country and we are looking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic teaching assistant for a SEND school in the St Helens area.

This school provides education to children in between the ages of 5 and 13 with a variety of additional needs and has been described as a welcoming and supportive environment by previously placed staff which provides plenty of experience to further develop a candidate’s knowledge of special educational needs. Located near fantastic public transport links and with ample car parking, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to expand who can provide a consistent and compassionate approach. In this role as a teaching assistant, you may be required to provide 1:1 and class support, as well as possibly supporting some small groups with interventions.
No classroom experience? No problem.
If you have ever worked in care, support roles, youth services or even in the military then we are eager to hear from you! We are looking for reliable and proactive individuals that are ready to jump in and support where needed.
What we are looking for:
• Personal or professional experience working with children with special educational needs.
• A DBS
• A calm, and consistent approach to managing challenging behaviour.
• Flexibility to work during school hours – 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Ability to reliably commute to the WA9 area.
