We’re recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to work with pupils who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in specialist schools across Manchester. These young people require consistent, personalised support — from physical care to sensory learning — and your role will be vital in helping them thrive.

Whether you have experience in care, special education, or working with individuals with complex medical needs, this role offers an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.

Your Role Will Involve:
- Supporting students with significant physical, learning, and medical needs
- Assisting with personal care routines, feeding, and mobility (including hoisting)
- Delivering sensory-focused activities to encourage learning and communication
- Collaborating closely with teaching staff, therapists, and medical professionals
- Helping to maintain a calm, nurturing classroom environment tailored to each child

We’re Looking For People Who:
- Have experience in PMLD, SEN, care work, or supporting individuals with complex needs
- Feel confident using assistive communication methods like switches, Eye Gaze, or sensory signals
- Are patient, resilient, and genuinely compassionate
- Can follow care plans and adapt to the unique needs of each pupil
- Are open to undertaking manual handling and personal care tasks (full training provided)
