Teaching Assistant
Location: Frome
Pay: £90–£95 per day (PAYE)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
We are working with a welcoming, all-through SEND school in Frome that is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports pupils from Early Years through to Post-16, providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where every child can thrive.
As a Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will work closely with pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You’ll need to demonstrate strong behaviour management, excellent teamwork, and a calm, patient approach to help pupils feel safe and supported in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent, individualised support to pupils across different age groups.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to deliver engaging, accessible learning experiences.
• Promote independence, communication, and confidence in every learner.
• Take part in ongoing training focused on SEND best practice and behaviour support.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
• Proven experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential).
• A compassionate, adaptable, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
