Location: Knowsley | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

A secondary school in Knowsley is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team this September, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour. This is a rewarding, full-time role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purposeful setting.
Your Role Will Involve:
Providing consistent 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs
Supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through clear boundaries and praise
Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support their academic and personal development
Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adapt strategies
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour
A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and inclusive practices
A commitment to helping every student access learning and achieve their potential
