Job Title: Teaching Assistant

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our teachers, assisting in creating a nurturing learning environment, and helping students achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the lead teacher to plan and deliver educational activities.
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and the set-up of the classroom.
- Provide support to students individually or in small groups to help them understand the material and complete assignments.
- Monitor and track students' progress, and provide feedback to both students and teachers.
- Assist with the management of classroom behavior and discipline.
- Help with the organization and supervision of school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Support students with special educational needs, under the direction of the lead teacher.
- Communicate with parents and guardians about their children’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Perform administrative tasks such as grading papers and recording grades as needed.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and child protection.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or relevant field.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within an educational environment preferred.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient and empathetic approach with a passion for education and children’s development.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
- An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
