Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Job Type: Full-Time

Are you passionate about supporting young children in their early development? We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and is committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Provide focused support to children with additional needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and encouraging independence.
- Set up and prepare classroom activities and learning materials.
- Observe children’s development and share insights with the teacher and SENCO to inform planning and intervention.
- Support children's personal, social, and emotional development through positive interactions and consistent routines.
- Assist with personal care where necessary, ensuring that all children are treated with dignity and respect.
-Promote learning through play, exploration, and structured activities.
- Help maintain a calm, positive classroom environment by supporting behaviour expectations.

What We’re Looking For:
- A relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent).
- Experience working in an Early Years setting, ideally with children who have SEN.
- A sound understanding of the EYFS curriculum and its practical application.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting young children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
