Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Farnworth, Bolton
Length of Role: Rest of the academic year
Pay Rate: £89 – £105 per day
Contract Type: Temporary with a view to permanent
SEND Teaching Assistant – Farnworth, Bolton
We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Farnworth area of Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and looking to make a long-term impact in a rewarding school environment.
The role is set to run for the rest of the academic year, with the strong possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND needs
• Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO and external professionals to ensure effective support
• Encourage pupil engagement, independence and positive behaviour
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
• Support personal care or behavioural needs where required
Requirements
• Experience working with children with SEND in a school or care setting
• Strong understanding of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Resilience, patience and a nurturing approach
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential
