Description

Are you looking for rewarding, full-time work as a Teaching Assistant in Bath? This role offers the chance to support secondary-aged students with autism and learning disabilities in a respected local secondary school known for its strong sense of community, high expectations and inclusive values.
Based in the south of the city, this well-established school has a long-standing reputation for academic achievement alongside excellent pastoral care. Its most recent Ofsted inspection praised the calm and purposeful learning environment, positive behaviour, and the strong relationships between staff and students. There is a clear focus on helping young people feel safe, supported and ready to learn — particularly those who need extra guidance to succeed.
The role
• Teaching Assistant supporting students aged 11–16
• Focus on autism and learning disabilities
• Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
• £13.70 per hour
• Starts ASAP, with the role becoming permanent after a 16-week settling-in period
You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff, helping students access learning, develop independence and build confidence both in and out of the classroom.
Who this role is for
This opportunity is ideal for local people, graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants or support workers who enjoy working with young people and want to make a positive difference. Experience is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your attitude.
If you’re patient, reliable, emotionally aware and able to build trust, you’ll thrive in this role. Skills from youth work, coaching or support roles — such as communication, consistency and encouragement — are highly valued, especially when working with students who may find school challenging.
This is meaningful, hands-on work in a school that values inclusion, structure and personal development.
